BIMI support center

What Is BIMI?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) enables verified logos to appear alongside authenticated emails in supported inboxes. To leverage BIMI, brands must meet strict authentication and logo requirements;  however, support depends on the recipient’s email client and provider.

Major Email Clients and BIMI Support

Gmail

  • Comprehensive Support: Full support for desktop, web, and mobile Gmail apps ensures broad brand visibility.
  • Strict Requirements: Requires DMARC enforcement (p=quarantine or p=reject at 100%) and a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC).
  • Brand Trust Indicator: Gmail adds a blue checkmark for VMC-verified brands, signifying verified identity and authenticity.

Yahoo Mail

  • Full Platform Support: Available on both webmail and mobile apps for consistent brand presence.
  • Strict DMARC Requirement: Requires DMARC set to “p=reject” and references the BIMI record and logo for authentication.
  • VMC Encouraged: A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) is optional but recommended for enhanced verified logo display.

Apple Mail (iOS, iPadOS, macOS)

  • BIMI Support Across Apple Devices: Available for users on iOS 16+, iPadOS 16+, and macOS Ventura 13+.
  • Strict Verification Requirements: Requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) from an approved provider and DMARC set to enforcement for eligibility.

Fastmail

  • Flexible BIMI Support: Supports BIMI without a strict Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) requirement.
  • Logo Display Eligibility: Logos are displayed for senders who meet BIMI and DMARC requirements.

Other Providers

  • AOL/Laposte.net: BIMI supported with varying requirements; verify specific eligibility and display policies with each provider.
  • ProtonMail, Zoho Mail: Partial BIMI support and ongoing updates—refer to each platform’s documentation for the most current capabilities and limitations.
  • Microsoft Outlook/Office365: As of August 2025, Outlook has not announced BIMI support on desktop or Microsoft 365 webmail.
